Those of you who follow me on Facebook have already had a little glimpse into Chantal's Mommy and Me session. It's something that I've wanted to do for a while now and I could not be happier with the results. My ultimate goal for these sessions is to just have some fun and catch some real, authentic moments and feelings along the way. I want to capture the bond between mother and child. You, moms, are so often tasked with being the family photographer that you hardly make an appearance in the family albums; I want to make sure you have something to look back on in years to come. It's minus a million degrees outside, the wind is brutal and relentless, and I can't feel my fingers, or toes, or face; so I'm thinking that this would be a great time to revisit one of last summer's weddings...if only to remind us that warmer days do exist!

Forrest and Estelle's wedding was not only a union of two amazingly authentic people, but a union of two countries, two cultures. Every detail of their day was meticulously planned out to reflect who they are as individuals, and as a couple. This wedding truly had it all, from a horse drawn carriage to a beer tent serving local brews, from bacon topped cupcakes (um HELLO!) to a personalized comedy act put on by their friends and family - there was no detail overlooked.

It would be easy to rattle on and on about the the love that surrounds Forrest and Estelle, and about how effortless their love for each other is; however I believe that the following series of photos is a great representation of their excitement, of their love, of their wedding, of THEM. Enjoy!

Erin and Richard attended the same schools, had mutual friends, lived in the same area; but it wasn’t until they spent a summer lifeguarding alongside each other that their feelings started to grow. From those early beginnings, the question was never IF they would get married, it was more like WHEN – and 14 years later they finally took the plunge (lifeguard pun intended :) come on people, humor me).

Their wedding took place at The Round Hearth in Eastman, QC on July 30th, 2016. I arrived that morning to an incredibly relaxed, excited vibe; which carried through the entire day. After a beautiful outdoor ceremony guests had the chance to have a cocktail, catch up and just enjoy the beautiful weather and surroundings. The fact that I recognized so many faces from our High School days is such a testament of their loyalty to those that they love - including each other. The entire day was filled with personal touches that were entirely unique to Erin and Richard as a couple. From Richard serenading Erin with an original song, to celebratory fireworks, to a bonfire in the place of a traditional reception - their wedding was truly their own.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Kelso :)

Julie + Jody Wedding Stanstead, Qc

“I’ve waited for this day for a long time” Julie’s daughter told me with a sparkle in her eye. Sitting in a corner watching her mother get her hair done Mila was absolutely bubbling over with excitement, which seemed to be a shared sentiment amongst the friends and family who were occupying Julie’s parents beautiful Stanstead, Qc home.

Julie was absolutely radiant and although the first words that I ever exchanged with Jody did not take place until after the ceremony, the look on his face when he saw his bride said everything that I needed to know about their love.

The road that brought Julie and Jody together was not an easy one, but what matters the most is that it brought them to where they needed to be. Please join me in wishing this fantastic couple a long and beautiful life together.

Meagan+Dominic Maternity Hatley, QC

Meagan was 36 weeks pregnant when I met up with her and Dominic, and boy did she make it look easy. She didn't hesitate once when I asked her to sit, stand, turn this way, move slightly that way... I'm surprised that my incessant demands didn't put her into labor right then and there.

Fast forward a month - Meagan and Dominic are still anxiously awaiting the birth of their daughter, who has decided to make them wait past her due date. As the saying goes; all good things take time - and a baby is no exception.

Best of luck to this awesome couple, I wish you a safe and speedy delivery x0x

Being welcomed into a family’s home, not to mention being amongst the first few people to meet a new family member, is an honor that I hold close to my heart.

When Elliot introduced me to his new little sister, everything about his demeanor screamed “this is a boy in love”, and why wouldn’t he be? Baby Lilia is perfection.

Congratulations Vickie, Chris and of course big brother Elliot, you have yourselves an amazing little family.

If I’m going to be completely honest I have to say that I was a little timid going into this session. My French is far from being perfect – it’s far from being good even… so the thought of doing an entire photo shoot in another language and potentially making a complete fool of myself, well it was a little daunting. My fears ended up being unwarranted because right away Joanie and Mat greeted me with warmth and friendliness. This gorgeous couple along with the sweet little Maeva, were the perfect models, so relaxed and trusting. My best wishes go out to this beautiful family, and their newest addition.

Pour être complètement honnête, je dois dire que j'étais un peu appréhensive de faire cette scéance photos. Mon français est loin d'être parfait; il est même loin d'être bon... Alors l'idée de me lancer dans une session photos dans une autre langue et de potentiellement avoir l'aire ridicule était plutôt intimidant pour moi. Mes peurs se sont avérées injustifiées, puisque Joanie et Mat m'ont tout de suite acceuilli de façon chaleureuse et amicale. Ce couple magnifique, accompagné de leur petite fille adorable Miss Maeva, ils ont étés des modèles parfaits, si détendus et confiants. Mes meilleurs voeux à cette belle famile, et leur membre le plus récent; bébé Florence.

Miss Taylor is one lucky little girl to have two parents who love her, and each other, as much as they do.

I met Daniel back in our diaper days. Our parents are friends, their parents were friends… and so on. As for Jennifer, well we met a little later in life – she had to have been at least four or five at the time. I met her in elementary school, but more importantly, she met Daniel in elementary school.

Maybe it’s because they’ve known each other for so long, or maybe it’s because of fate, destiny, meant to be or whatever you want to call it… but when you look at the two of them, they just make sense. You can feel the love and respect that they have for one another and after putting a lot of thought into how to best describe them as a couple, the words that come to mind are “In Sync”. They’re partners in every sense of the word.

So on July 25^th, 2015 in a beautiful backyard ceremony, against a stunning country backdrop these childhood sweethearts said “I do”.
